Peptide stability is directly tied to how they are stored. This guide walks through best practices for both unreconstituted (lyophilised) and reconstituted peptides.
Lyophilised (powder) storage
- Store at 2–8°C (refrigerated) upon receipt
- Can be kept for up to 24 months in original sealed vial
- For very long-term storage, -20°C freezer is acceptable
- Protect from light — keep in original packaging
Reconstituted storage
- Always reconstitute with bacteriostatic water
- Store reconstituted peptide at 2–8°C
- Use within 4 weeks of reconstitution
- Do NOT freeze reconstituted peptides — causes degradation
- Avoid repeated warming/cooling cycles
General tips
Label every vial with the reconstitution date. Never leave peptides at room temperature for extended periods. If a peptide shows cloudiness or colour change after reconstitution, discard it.
